The Victorian era hook extends and retracts into the ornate gold filled case with a few turns of the barrel. There is a loop at the top so that it may be attached to a chain or chatelaine. Patent date September 21, 1875.<br>In overall very good condition with minor surface abrasions to the case. The hook moves smoothly. This condition is consistent with age and use. Measures 2 1/8" long when retracted and 3 3/16" when extended. The barrel diameter is 5.7mm. Total weight of 7.5 grams.
